Dr. Mani Nayudu

Dr. Mani NayuduDr Mani Nayudu graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Zoology (with honours). She then completed a Master in Science in Microbiology at NUS and a Master in Science in Molecular Genetics at the University of Leicester (UK). With a passion, curiosity and love for discoveries in scientific research she successfully completed her Doctorate in Human Genetics at University College London (UK) working on Genetics of Eye Diseases in humans.

She has more than 20 years of teaching experience having taught Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences in her role of full-time lecturer and section head at the Schools of Life Sciences to Diploma students at the Nanyang Polytechnic and Degree students at Management Development Institute of Singapore. Dr Mani has also taught both Pure and Combined Biology (‘O’ and ‘A’ Level syllabus) as a personal tutor at various tuition and education centres in Singapore. Having good interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for helping students/young adults, she has enjoyed teaching and mentoring students from different age groups and educational levels.

One of Dr Mani’s strength is her friendly and approachable nature, which helps her develop a strong rapport with students. With her varied teaching experience, biological scientific research expertise and strong knowledge of Biology, she is able to share, impart and bring Biology concepts, experiments to life in a classroom setting. Using a student-centred approach to asking questions and learning she encourages and helps students to learn and love Biology.
